GILA GREEN / White Zion and No Entry – born in Ottawa, Gila is a writer, editor and EFL teacher currently living in Israel. As the daughter of a Yemenite-Israeli father and Ashkenazi-Canadian mother, Gila paints from all the colours/hues of the Jewish palette. She often writes about racism, alienation, and immigration. The gritty yet shimmering stories in White Zion are rich in intimate details, peopled with a cast of heart-wrenching characters at once familiar and unique. In No Entry, her YA novel, she tackles elephant poaching through the eyes of a young, Canadian heroine on her first visit to South Africa's Kruger National Park.
Come meet, greet and listen to Gila on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 4pm at the WRSSJCC.
