November Jewish Book Carnival

I am honored to host this month's Jewish Book Carnival. The Jewish Book Carnival is a monthly roundup of Jewish literary links from across the blogosphere. Sponsored by the Association of Jewish Libraries, it is hosted by a different blog each month and shares book reviews, author interviews, essays, and other blog posts about Jewish books. For more information about the Jewish Book Carnival visit here.

On her blog Book Q&As with Deborah Kalb, Deborah interviewed Marlene Trestman about her new book, Most Fortunate Unfortunates: The Jewish Orphans' Home of New Orleans.

At The Whole Megillah, Barbara Krasner interviews novelist Elana K. Arnold about her new book, The Blood Years.

On The Book of Life podcast, author Emily Bowen Cohen talks about her debut graphic novel TWO TRIBES, which echoes her experiences growing up as a Jewish member of the Muscogee Nation.

The Sydney Taylor Shmooze mock award blog brings you reviews of Jewish children's literature every week. A recent highlight is this review of Barefoot in the Sand by Hava Deevon, published by Green Bean Books. It's a picture book about Jews from distant lands rejoicing in their arrival in the land of Israel.

Over at the Rachack Review, Rabbi Reuven Chaim Klein offers a review of David Curwin's new book on Kohelet (Ecclesiastes), highlighting his book's unique methodology and some of its original insights.

On her My Machberet blog, Erika Dreifus routinely compiles news of Jewish literary interest. Here's one recent post, reflecting the not-so-routine moment in which we find ourselves.

On her blog, Mirta Ines Trupp discusses her latest project, From Meidelach to Matriarchs: A Journal~ Jewish Women of Yesteryear to Inspire your Today.

At Jewish Books for Kids and More, Barbara Bietz interviews Israeli author Hava Deevon about her new picture book BAREFOOT IN THE SAND. Jewish Books for Kids

Batya of A Jewish Grandmother reviewed Innocent Spouse, by Leonard Getz, a fascinating murder mystery which is an amazingly prophetic book about the growing power of radical Islam. The review includes an interview with the author.

Life Is Like a Library took a tour of the new campus of the National Library of Israel.

Here on gilagreenwrites, I was privileged to interview author Deborah Kalb about her first foray into adult fiction and her new novel Off to Join the Circus.
